In the face of a more variable climate, cities and their rapidly growing urban populations struggle to create policies which protect food, energy, and water systems – especially those which serve marginalized populations. As resource demands rise and meet with budget constraints, cities are beginning to look for tools to better support their decision making. The goal of this research is to develop a series of urban systems models which will aid cities and their residents in making sustainable decisions. A key part of these models will be the integration of human behavior data to ensure outputs are relevant to stakeholders.
